The Cornerstone Award is named after Ed Brandeen. Ed earned his degree in Parks and Recreation and later got his Master's Degree in Education. He was the director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Owatonna for four years before moving to the City of Crystal as their director of Parks and Recreation for 34 years. Brandeen was an influential MRPF Board Member for many years and made significant contributions to the Foundation in an effort to establish financial stability for the Foundation.
The family of Ed Brandeen presents the Cornerstone Award to someone each year who has made a significant contribution to the Foundation.
Awards are usually presented at the luncheon at MRPA's Annual General Meeting
